The Farm offers Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs) shares of fresh, local produce weekly throughout the growing season for SOU students, staff, and faculty. Every week, you pick up directly from the Farm an array of fresh organic produce, with recipe ideas and product descriptions included. CSAs are a great way to try new foods, eat healthy, show support for local agriculture, and help keep alive farms like the one at SOU!
Beginning in SOU Spring Term, you will find a link to the CSA site to sign up for the summer CSA. The summer CSA runs for 12 weeks from June 15th to September 7th. CSAs come in three sizes: full, half, and single with varying prices. Full shares offer the most variety and quantity. Single shares are designed for students and others who need smaller quantities. Shares are limited and sold on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Shares are picked up at The Farm (155 Walker Avenue) at two convenient times: Fridays and Saturdays from 12-6. You can sign up as soon as the site opens. All payments are made through your SOU account and are due by June 8th. After May 1st, since we will have already planned our crops, there are no refunds.
Some sample produce throughout the season:
Cucumbers, Garlic, Kale, Lettuce, Snap Peas, Spinach, Carrots, Eggplant, Green Beans, Melon, Peppers, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Cantaloupe, Berries, Fruits, Micro Greens, Pumpkins, Onions, Winter Squash
