The Farm at Southern Oregon University is a center for sustainability. The student-led organic Farm produces healthy, sustainably harvested food for the SOU community. It is a hub for education, student and faculty research and community outreach to the Rogue Valley. Projects on The Farm inspire a generation of ecologically-committed leaders who promote a vision of living and working sustainably in community and on the land.
Our production farm is run by students for students and encompasses 5.5 acres located at 155 Walker Street in Ashland. The farm is designed and maintained by our student farmers and their many volunteer helpers. The opportunity to volunteer is open to everyone; students, faculty, staff and community members. Volunteer opportunities and scheduled work party days are posted on our Facebook page and updated each term.
Our outdoor classroom is used by SOU instructors, student study groups and community members as a place to share and learn as they enjoy the panoramic surroundings! Contact us for information on how to use this space for your class or project!
