Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a rewarding way for the Rogue Valley to connect with the local food system while directly supporting student farmers.
By purchasing a seasonal share, members secure access to a thoughtfully curated harvest and enjoy an abundance of fresh, locally grown, pesticide-free produce from our practicing organic farm, all offered at an exceptional value. CSA membership also includes exclusive perks, such as interactive “you-pick” days featuring seasonal favorites like strawberries, blackberries, and fall pumpkins.
CSA participation helps sustain the farm and its educational mission, while member feedback plays an important role in shaping each season’s offerings to reflect the needs and preferences of our community. Members often share that they value the opportunity to discover new foods and learn how to eat with the seasons.

Wednesday, June 24 through Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
CSA shares are available for weekly pickup on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Farm, located at 155 Walker Avenue, Ashland, OR.
CSA shares are available for pickup anytime during the scheduled pickup day and hours. Unclaimed shares are donated to the SOU Student Food Pantry, helping support student food access.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a mutually beneficial way for community members to support local farmers. Community members pay a subscription fee at the beginning of the growing season which provides farmers the economic security to invest in seeds, cover operations cost, and pay a fair wage to their employees. By participating in your local CSA program, you are creating a direct relationship between farmers and community members.
Because The Farm is student-led, our CSA schedule reflects the rhythms of the academic year. Season lengths and pickup dates may vary as we balance coursework with hands-on farming, ensuring a sustainable and meaningful experience for our student farmers.

Will I know what produce I am receiving each week ahead of time?
Unlike the grocery store, produce from The Farm differs slightly week to week and reflects the natural changes of the growing season.
Midweek, we will send out a list of expected produce and on the day of pickup, we will include information for produce which may be unfamiliar (e.g., bok choy, mustard greens) and tasty recipes for how to prepare them!
What happens if I miss a CSA share pickup?
You are welcome to have a family member, friend, neighbor, etc. pick up your share for you if you are unavailable. We typically do not allow share pickups outside of our scheduled times, as we are a very small operation with labor constraints. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates. When possible, shares that are not picked up are donated in the Ashland community.
May I participate in the CSA if I am a non-SOU community member?
Contact us by email at thefarm@sou.edu for more information.
Is the produce from The Farm organic?
The produce from The Farm is cultivated using all-organic methods. We use no toxic pesticides or herbicides; however, we are not USDA Certified Organic.
Where specifically on The Farm do I pickup my share?
All pick ups will be at the Farm. Please go to 155 Walker Ave, Ashland, OR. Should you not be able to pick up your items at the designated time, please reach out to thefarm@sou.edu
